Privacy Policy

SideSurf ("the app") is a free app for Magic: The Gathering players to keep their decks and sideboard guides. This policy explains what the app does with your information. The short version: SideSurf has no accounts, no ads and no analytics, and it does not collect your personal data.
What stays on your device
Everything you create in the app (decks, versions, matchups, sideboard plans, match history, archetypes and settings) is stored only on your device. The developer never receives it and cannot see it.
If you use Data backup or Export in the app, the file is saved where you choose. It is not uploaded anywhere by the app.
Information the app sends to other services
To work, the app contacts these services. The requests are made when you use the matching feature, they are sent over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and they do not include your name, email address or any account identifier, because the app has none.
- Scryfall (scryfall.com): when you import a deck, search for a card or open a card, the app sends the card names (and search text) to Scryfall to get card details, legality information and card images. Scryfall's own privacy practices apply to those requests: https://scryfall.com/docs/privacy
- Archidekt (archidekt.com): only when you import a deck from an Archidekt link, the app requests that public deck from Archidekt. Archidekt's privacy policy applies.
- Your web browser: if you tap "Buy me a coffee" (Android only), the link opens in your browser. Nothing is sent by the app itself.
Like any internet request, these services can see your device's IP address and basic technical details such as the app's user-agent. The developer does not operate these services and does not receive this information.
Feedback
"Send Feedback / Report a Bug" opens your own email app with a pre-filled message addressed to the support email below. The message includes your device model, operating system version and the app version, so problems can be reproduced. You can read and edit it before sending, and nothing is sent unless you press send in your email app.
Permissions
The app only asks for access to the internet, so it can reach the services above.
Children
The app does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.
Backups by your device
Your phone or tablet may include the app's data in its own system backup (for example Android's backup to your Google account or iCloud). That is controlled by your device settings and your operating system provider, not by the developer.
Deleting your data
Because your data lives only on your device, you can delete it at any time by deleting decks in the app, or by uninstalling the app.

Changes
